Globus TECAR therapy

DiaCaRe capacitive and resistive energy transfer (CRET)

TECAR (CRET) therapy uses the body’s own heat, generated by the movement of electrical charges, to stimulate repair processes, with an analgesic and anti-inflammatory action for musculoskeletal trauma and disorders.

Globus TECAR therapy
Overview

About this technology

Product information provided by the manufacturer.

Biological effects

Biostimulant, analgesic, anti-inflammatory, decontracting and vasodilating.

Resistive method

Uses non-insulated electrodes for high-resistance tissues: bone, cartilage, tendons, ligaments, fascia and fibrotic tissue. Positioning the electrodes focuses the therapeutic action along the current path between them. Indicated for deep, localised treatment of joint, tendon and muscle structures.

Capacitive method

Uses an insulated electrode for low-resistance tissues: skin, connective tissue, and the circulatory and lymphatic systems. Indicated for the initial phase of treatment and for superficial action on soft, hydrated tissue.

Geometry and therapy

DiaCaRe reaches the treatment area in depth, through two working methods and electrode geometries chosen to deliver the therapeutic action where it is needed.

Hands-free treatment

A hands-free kit with cables and adhesive electrodes lets the therapist combine TECAR with manual techniques.

For rehabilitation

Used for osteo-articular, tendon and ligament, muscular and myofascial, neuromuscular, lymphatic and vascular conditions.

Real-time control

The colour display shows impedance changes in the treated tissue, the current absorbed by the patient and the total work in joules.

Fascia Tools

Globus combines DiaCaRe with instrument-assisted soft tissue mobilisation (IASTM). Four tools: DiaBlade Large (lower limb and trunk), DiaBlade Small (upper limb and cervical spine), DiaTriggerPoint (trigger points) and DiaSpine (back and vertebral mobilisation).

Clinical applications

Where clinicians use it

Rehabilitation

Musculoskeletal disorders, tendinopathies, recovery after injury, post-operative recovery, osteoarticular conditions, muscle and myofascial pain

Sports

Sports recovery, deep warm-up, improved joint mobility, post-training muscle recovery

Lymphatic and vascular

Post-operative lymphatic drainage, bruise drainage, vasodilation, tissue oxygenation

Key technology

How it works

RF

Heat from within

Low-intensity radiofrequency passed through electrodes produces heat inside the tissue.

RES

Resistive mode

Non-insulated electrodes for high-resistance tissue: bone, cartilage, tendons, ligaments, fascia and fibrotic tissue.

CAP

Capacitive mode

Insulated electrodes for low-resistance tissue: skin, connective tissue, and the circulatory and lymphatic systems.

300 – 1200 kHz

Seven frequencies

Selectable at 300, 400, 448, 470, 700, 1000 and 1200 kHz.
