What this covers

The two modalities use different energy and different applicators, and many clinics keep both. Choosing between them is a clinical decision.

What to compare

  • For TECAR: frequencies, rated power, whether both capacitive and resistive methods are included, and the electrodes supplied
  • For ultrasound: frequencies, output intensity, continuous and pulsed modes with adjustable duty cycle, and handpiece size
  • For electrotherapy: available programmes and electrode pads
  • Whether the operator can create and save custom protocols

FAQ

Common questions

Does TRIMAX supply TECAR and ultrasound equipment in Malaysia?

Yes. TRIMAX supplies Globus TECAR and Globus ultrasound and electrotherapy units, with installation, staff training, preventive maintenance and repair.

Are the Globus TECAR and ultrasound units registered with the Medical Device Authority (MDA)?

Yes. TRIMAX Healthcare Sdn. Bhd. is the authorised representative on the MDA register for TECAR therapy (registration GC2616724-170751) and ultrasound therapy (Medisound 3000, registration GB8129524-175786). The electrostimulator, digital TENS and EMS unit and electrode pads have their own registrations, listed on the regulatory page.

Is TECAR the same as ultrasound therapy?

No. TECAR uses radiofrequency electrical energy between electrodes. Therapeutic ultrasound uses mechanical sound waves from a transducer at 1 MHz or 3 MHz.
